The International Hand Health Community (IHHC®) is committed to making its digital services as accessible as possible and available to everyone. Our aim is to ensure that the content on ihhc.eu can be perceived, understood, and used as easily as possible, regardless of individual abilities or the assistive technologies being used.

As we continue to develop our website, we follow recognized standards and recommendations for digital accessibility, in particular the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and, where relevant to our services, the requirements of EN 301 549.

This Accessibility Statement applies to the website https://ihhc.eu , including the editorial content and digital services provided on the website.

Accessibility Status

The International Hand Health Community website is continuously reviewed and further developed with regard to accessibility.

Among other things, we aim to ensure:

  • meaningful content organization through headings,

  • usability across different devices,

  • alternative text for relevant images and graphics,

  • clear and understandable links and user interface elements, and

  • the gradual improvement of accessibility for multimedia content and documents.

Despite our efforts, some accessibility barriers may still remain.

Content That Is Not Yet Fully Accessible

The following content or functions may not yet be fully accessible:

  • PDF documents and downloads: Some documents may not yet be fully optimized for screen readers or may not have a completely accessible document structure.

  • Videos and multimedia content: Some videos may not yet include complete captions, transcripts, or audio descriptions.

  • Older content: Previously published content may still have incomplete alternative text, heading structures, or other accessibility-related markup.

  • Third-party content: Embedded content or services provided by third parties may contain accessibility barriers over whose technical implementation IHHC has no direct control.

  • Complex medical and anatomical illustrations: Due to their level of technical detail, some illustrations may not always be fully represented by brief alternative text. We aim to make essential information additionally accessible through the surrounding text.

We are working to gradually reduce existing barriers as part of the ongoing technical and editorial development of IHHC.
