Knowledge That Connects Hands.
IHHC brings together clinical expertise, scientific evidence, and interdisciplinary collaboration to advance hand health.
Bridging Science and Clinical Practice
In therapy and rehabilitation, there is often a gap between scientific evidence and its application in everyday clinical practice. While research provides valuable insights and new perspectives, clinicians frequently lack clear guidance, practical tools, and actionable strategies to translate evidence into patient care.
This is where the International Hand Health Community (IHHC) makes a difference: We critically evaluate scientific evidence, present it in a clear and accessible way, and translate it into practical solutions for hand therapy, hand rehabilitation, and hand health.

More Than Three Decades of Experience in Hand Therapy
I am Rainer Zumhasch—an occupational therapist, author, educator, international speaker, and developer of therapeutic solutions. For more than three decades, I have dedicated my work to hand therapy, hand rehabilitation, and translating clinical knowledge into everyday practice.
After working in orthopedic hospitals and running my own private practice, I founded the Academy for Hand Rehabilitation in 2002, where I played a leading role in its development and served as its director until 2019.
Through the International Hand Health Community, my goal is to share this knowledge in a way that is evidence-based, accessible, and directly applicable to everyday clinical practice.
